Y’all Imma cry. This has been a LOVELY journey to travel with you all. All your comments (Zara, FragileWriter, and everyone else, I SEE YOU!) carried me through what ended up being an incredibly hard season of my life as I posted this. This story started just over two years ago, as I traveled across the country and came up with an idea from the song “Fast Car” by Tracey Chapman while I drove across the Colorado Mountains. It evolved over time, but the core has remained consistent. Thank you all so so much for being here from start to finish and for loving this story with me.

It is both Luke and Patrick’s first time on a plane, but after the month they’ve had, they don’t have any anxiety left to spare for it. They enjoy the in-flight crackers and soda and the views out the window of cloudscapes and mountains.
